Aligned with the Kosovo Government program and the strategic plan of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MESTI), Project ESVET PRO is dedicated to supporting the adoption and implementation of Dual VET in the Kosovo education system.

As part of the commitment to Dual VET Learning, the MESTI has taken a significant step forward by establishing ten working groups of experts tasked with adapting curricula for Dual VET Learning. These adaptations have already commenced implementation in the current academic year 2023/2024.

Among the ten established working groups, six are exclusively dedicated to profiles introduced for the very first time during the current this school year. These profiles include:

  1. Heating, Water, and Air Conditioning Installer
  2. Electrical Installer
  3. Metalworker
  4. Carpenter
  5. Tailor
  6. Beautician

The remaining four working groups are focused on reviewing the curricula for profiles introduced during the previous school year (2022-2023). These profiles encompass:

  1. Bricklayer
  2. Hairdresser
  3. Cook
  4. Hotel Assistant

Furthermore, curricula for grades 11 and 12 within these profiles will also undergo review.

The anticipated outcomes of these workshops are comprehensive. They include:

  1. Reviewing Curricula for New Profiles: A meticulous review of the curricula for the six profiles being introduced for the first time in the 2023/2024 school year.
  2. Reviewing Curricula for Existing Profiles: A thorough evaluation of the curricula for the four profiles that were introduced in the previous school year, including the adaptation of curricula for grades 11 and 12.
  3. Evaluating Applicative Subjects: A focused examination of applicative subjects within these profiles to ensure their relevance and effectiveness.
  4. Standardization of Curricula: Establishing a model for future implementation by standardizing the curricula for all ten profiles. This standardization will serve as a blueprint for future curricula development within the Dual VET learning system.
  5. Teacher Training: Equipping teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively implement the adapted curricula within the Dual VET learning system.
  6. Recommendations for Improvement: Based on the insights gained from these workshops, comprehensive recommendations for further enhancing the Dual VET learning system will be provided.

This ongoing collaborative effort between MESTI and the Project marks a significant stride towards enhancing vocational education in Kosovo. By ensuring the robustness, standardization, and alignment of curricula with industry needs, our collective aim is to provide students with an exceptional education, equipping them for successful careers in their chosen fields.

We will maintain continuous communication with our stakeholders, keeping them informed about the progress of this initiative. We eagerly anticipate witnessing the positive impact it will have on the future of vocational education in Kosovo.
