The second Project Steering Committee Meeting was held on 28th September 2022. As foreseen by the Technical and Financial Document (TFD), the Project Steering Committee meets at least once a year to review the progress made, make decisions on the strategic orientation of the interventions within the framework of VET reform and address any other issue falling under its competence.

The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), who is the Chair of the Project Steering Committee and was attended by the representatives of the relevant institutions as foreseen in the TFD.

The Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), Ms Fadile Dyla opened the meeting by welcoming all members and participants and expressed her gratitude to the European Union Office in Kosovo for funding the Project KSV/801 – ESVET PRO and the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency-LuxDev for the implementation. Ms Dyla emphasised the importance of the scope of support provided by the Project and the results achieved by intervening in the VET sector at a national level and improving the sector’s overall institutional and financial sustainability.

The representative of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Mr. Stergios Tragoudas congratulated all the members for the successful implementation of the activities as foreseen by the project. He emphasized the importance of the digital components that are developed within the framework of the project and reassured further support of the European Union Office in the implementation of the remaining activities of the project. An important point that he mentioned was that despite the restrictions imposed by COVID-19 pandemic, the project has successfully completed many activities and based on these achievements, the European Union Office in Kosovo was happy to extend the project for one more year.

The Resident Representative of the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency-LuxDev, Ms Gülten Aka in Kosovo expressed her acknowledgement to the MESTI and the EU Office representatives for their continued cooperation in the implementation of the activities of Project KSV/801. She emphasized the commitment of LuxDev in the education sector and the long-standing cooperation with MESTI with a key focus on the VET sector. She informed the participants that LuxDev will launch a new project in 2023 and digitalisation will be the core component of the project.

Following these opening notes, the CTA of the Project, Mr Daniele Christian Passalacqua started with a concise presentation summarising the processes related to the project’s results/main achievements during the year of 2022 and the overall operational and financial planning until 2023

At the end of the meeting, the Project Steering Committee (PSC) members unanimously approved the documents presented (main achievements, next steps and overall operational and financial planning until 2023).
